Prayer for Peace in Our Homes

Peace at Home

Tonight’s Prayer Focus: Peace in our homes

6 Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. 7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. 8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.” 9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. — Psalms 122:6-9 (NLT)

People are fighting for “rights” and everything else. It is time we take a stand and fight for “peace in our homes”…it’s totally up to us. It is our choice to live chaos or to live in peace. The world have conditioned to fight back in all the wrong ways and when all else fails, to just give up and walk away.

We are not taught commonly that there is another way. We’re not taught that God’s power rules over everything else. I am not saying that every situation will be fixed, but I believe if we will turn to God and His Word, we can experience the power of His Peace within “our” walls and turn the tide of relationship failures within our homes.

Please understand that this is not limited to marriages but our children and any other relationship with our homes as well. We can have peace in our homes!

Let’s Pray:

Father, we pray for the peace that only you can give. Forgive us for every bit of strife, malice and every hurtful thing we’ve said or done to anyone…especially to those who live under our roof.

Our families deserve so much more. Help us to yield ourselves to your plan for our lives, as demonstrated by your love through our Lord Jesus.

We realize that we cannot fix the problems in our homes ourselves. However, with your help, not only can it be fixed but totally healed. Help us to see ourselves and to do the things to make the necessary corrections in our lives.

Let this be the beginning of our homes being a true reflection of you to the world.

So Lord, we pray for peace, love and understanding within the walls of our homes and the relationships within them. For this we say thank you!

In Jesus’ Name…Amen!

So true, especially that we cannot look for God to fix it (at least, not according to our schedule), and so In Scripture we learn to live as Paul, that “whatever condition I find myself in I am content”. Isn’t it true that our bad temper sometimes finds its root in wanting change defined by self rather than contentment defined by Christ?

Amen!!! Another aspect of contentment is our ability to yield to His Will…regardless. Yes, it is true that we’re so EGO-DRIVEN that we think we know whats best and so seek to define our lives by what we want–thereby not finding contentment in Christ’s plan for us! Thank you again for shining light on this post.

      Blessings Brother!
