Do the Right Thing…Trust God

Trust (Building Block)Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.—Proverbs 3:5

We are asking for trouble when we try to operate in our own understanding, and lean upon our experiences and intellect, to navigate life’s waters…instead of our faith in God. When we do this, we take what is supposed to be a spiritual thing—our believing and trusting in God—and we introduce to it this natural, fleshly, atmosphere that creates turbulence in our lives.

In other words, instead of just trusting God and His Word to make it through whatever we may be facing from the start. We try to rely on our experiences that are born in the sense realm, which is this natural world. God gave us our natural five physical senses—the ability to hear, see, smell, taste and touch—to navigate and function in this physical world we live in and not the world of the Spirit.

Although God did give us our natural physical senses; He also gave us faith to operate within the world of the Spirit—which is where God resides! The Spiritual realm is the source of every provision of God for us…which is the Kingdom of God. When we have faith or exercise our belief in God and His Word we not only come in contact with God but we also come in contact with everything He has provided and all He is capable of being for us!

My friend, this is the real realm of possibility! The world we live in—this natural world is full of limits and impossibilities—but there are no impossibilities with our God! When we believe God and His Word, we receive God’s power to make the impossible possible! Whatever may seem impossible to you at this moment, face it with faith in the power of God to turn it around and see what happens!

If personal experience or opinion replaces God’s Word or the touch of the Spirit then we do risk missing the realm of the spiritual. On the other hand the sensual can lead to the spiritual, such as Thomas touching the resurrected body of Jesus and believing, and those healed by the touch of the Saviour rising to follow in faith. If my experience draws attention to me, what a travesty. If my experience (like the Exodus) magnifies the one true God, what glory. Your warning is truly important, for all we do reflects on Jesus, and may it always reflect Jesus!

  3. How appropriate a post, because “The Vote” is this evening. Please pray that God’s Will be done and that whatever it is we can remain at peace, secure within the boundaries He provides. Blessings and thank you,
