Get Your Strength from The Lord

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your God is our refuge and strengthstrength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. – Ephesians 6:10 (Amplified)

It seems everywhere you turn someone is talking about how hard things are! Whether it from friends, news reports or even blogs. What’s more, you don’t have to look far to see why they are saying that. But I have good news…there is hope! Regardless of how depressing things may look, whether on the outside or even right in your own house, God has a word for you—be strong!!!

“Be strong in the Lord”—this is what He wants us to know and do. It is not our power that influences change; it is His power and our trust in it. We have to plug into God as you would plug your computer or any appliance into an electrical source for power. Even batteries don’t last forever…they must be replaced or recharged!

Don’t wait for trouble to come, don’t wait for darkness to fall, plug into God and His power now! The verse above in the Amplified Version tells us to “draw your strength from Him”; Psalms 121:2 tells us that our help “cometh from the Lord”. Isn’t that exciting? We don’t have to struggle trying to make our own way, we can lean and rest upon our God who never exhausts or takes a break! What’s more, He gives us this power when we are united with Him.

Now is the time to plug into the Lord with increased regularity. I don’t know about you but I don’t like my batteries to run low. Whether it is my cell phone, laptop, or tablet—I am constantly plugging in. I don’t want to be in the middle of something and lose power. I believe it is the same in the spiritual.

We would not want to be facing a situation in which we need the strength of the Lord residing within us, but we are devoid of power because we have been unplugged for too long. That is not what God wants for us!

Therefore, let us take heed to the Word of the Living God and be ever mindful that we can overcome any obstacle or source of trouble, if we will only draw our strength from the source of ALL strength and power. If we do this we will be able to stand regardless!
