Don’t Jump Too Quickly

By your steadfastness and patient endurance you [a]shall win the [b]true life of your souls.Luke 21:19 (Amplified)

While in the grocery checkout line yesterday, I noticed the lane next to me was empty. So I jumped over to discover it was for ‘10 items or less’…I had more. So I moved back to my original lane to discover someone had taken my place. I ended up waiting a lot longer than I would have, had I stayed put.

What is it you believe God to bring to pass? Is it a job, a ministry, financial deliverance, healing in your body, or peace in your home and marriage? Whatever it is, one thing is necessary, you have to add patience to your faith.

Without patience, you may miss your blessing while you are jumping lines. Hold on, believe God for the right timing and don’t let go. If you must move, God will let you know when.

Lord, help us to be patient in our walk with you, help us understand this is for our benefit…Amen.

  2. I’m walking that road right now Sebastian, Thank you for your message, I know God’s patience is not like the worlds where everything has to be instant or short and sweet, the Scriptures tell us this can lead to danger of our being deceived but we wait patiently on The Lord as you shared and we know His timing will be perfect.

I hope it’s okay to be honest here–16 years seems like a long wait. God bless you.

Right now I am “holding on” or as my Bible Teaching Leader tells us to cling tightly. We just did a lesson in Genesis and I never thought I would be applying that lesson to my life so soon. Patience is not my strength, but thankfully Jesus offers me what I lack – so for now I am encouraged to know that I am to continue to hold on – cling tightly to God and He will let me know when I am ready for my next step ~ Blessings.

  8. Oh, Brother Sebastian, what a great word!!! Yes, I receive it. And I couldn’t help but chuckle, because all the years my husband and I were married (he’s with the Lord now) he ALWAYS said, “Never switch lines. When you’re in one line, stay there!” Well, I have to tell you that every once in a while, I decided I just knew better than his advice, and I switched lines. But the overwhelming majority of those times, I was very sorry that I had done it.

  10. This is excellent advice! It’s what I have been praying for in regards to my husband’s desire to give up our secure lifestyle to enter the world of full time ministry – which I feel is God’s desire for us both. But if it’s to be it should feel right, not forced when we are in God’s will, shouldn’t it? There are several possibilities out there that I feel God might be leading us toward, prayers are welcomed. Blessings, my inspirational friend,
