Never Forget

Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.Romans 13:7 (Amplified)

I know this verse of scripture is not referring to fallen soldiers or heroes, but I felt is appropriate for this day. It is Memorial Day here in the USA. As you go about your day, let’s remember those whose sacrifices this special day was set aside to honor. Thank you!

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived. — George S. Patton

Today I have to deal with part B of the verse in Romans 12:15. Today our community is dealing with the death of a wonderful 7th grader from Winnebago. Ben Johnson has been fighting cancer for several years and this morning he died. Our community is in a state of mourning. We are mourning the loss of this young man. We are lifting up Ben’s family in prayer and depending on God to comfort them.

Thank you for sharing this! We will be sure to place this family on our prayer list and lift them, and the entire community up in prayer.
Father, I ask you to strengthen, comfort, and encourage Ben Johnson’s family and community. Help them to see your love and grace in the midst of this difficult time. Wrap your loving arms around each of them and let them know they are not alone because you are there with them, right now. In Jesus’ Name…Amen!
