But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.—1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
Beloved, we are getting down to “crunch time”—the time to “put up or shut up!” I know those are just clichés but I think they are relevant regarding the life we are to live for God.
Satan is revving up his engines for an all-out assault on this earth and it is the Body of Christ’s responsibility to take a stand against him. It is he we are fighting and not one another; remember, “For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.”—Ephesians 6:12 (Good News)
Unfortunately, far too many of us are trying to fight a spiritual battle in our flesh and natural understanding. Please know that our adversary is not a natural being, nor does he do battle in the natural. Therefore, we must get “in the spirit” as well, to ward off his attacks upon us and those people and things God has given us influence and responsibility for!
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ—2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)
Strongholds are designed with a duality in purpose. First, it is designed to keep someone captive as if behind bars or gates. Secondly, its purpose is to protect from assault. With this in mind, Believers must be intent to fight against anything that is holding us “captive” from receiving the best of God for our lives; as well as, willing to take on a militant attitude to make an assault on the stronghold of the enemy to plunder his house.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that any earthly or natural knowledge or understanding will do this for you. It is not our education, experience, “know-how”, or money, which will get us through these times—we absolutely must have the revelation of the Word of God by His Spirit. With this revelation, we must “be strong in the Lord”; we must put on our armor and prepare to do battle.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.—Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
My friend, please take courage and do not lose heart—regardless of what you are facing now—you have the victory! Jesus told us to “be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”—John 16:33 (AMP)
Every time we take a stand in prayer and through the Word for our life, and the lives of those God have put in our care, we break one more hold the enemy has on us and take more ground he is holding from us!
Therefore, remember that this is a spiritual battle that we are in and we have to resist although we are victorious through Christ. So, don’t trust your intellect, get in the Spirit by trusting God through faith in His Word.Have Faith1st ©2013 Faith1st Ministries
