Being Determined (con’t)

Determination - Peale Quote

13 Brothers and sisters, I can’t consider myself a winner yet. This is what I do: I don’t look back, I lengthen my stride, and 14 I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus.Philippians 3:13-14 (God’s Word)

This is a continuation of an earlier post by the same nameencouraging us to stay determined.

Let us remember:

Determination: the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose.

David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.1 Samuel 30:6 (AMP)

David faced one of the most trying times of his life but he did not give up or give in, he sought the Lord for strength and guidance when he needed it most. Now is the time for you and I to find the determination to say to ourselves, our circumstances, our health, our finances, and everything that make up our worldI will not stop, I will not cave in, I will not quit!

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?Psalm 118:5-6 (KJV)

What are you facing in your life? Regardless of what it is, find the determination to take a stand, look to God and say,I will not fear…The scriptures teach that the man who built his house upon a rock was able to withstand the storm when it came. Our rock has to be based in faith in the revealed Word of the Living God! Jesus made this clear when He told Peterupon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”—Matthew 16:18.

So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?…None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.Romans 8:31-32, 38-39 (Message)

With God and His Word on our side, we are standing in victory. It does not matter what it looks like because we are to,walk by faith, not by sightand it is our determination to follow God by faith that will see us through whatever trials, temptation, or trouble that may come our way. Receiving and walking with Christ does not alleviate trouble from our lives but it does give us victory over it!

Give God a chance and be determined not to stop until you see victory!
