A Word Indeed

The Word of God: John 1:6-13

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructionsPsalms 107:20

The Word of God is the most powerful thing in existence.

This is evidenced by the fact that everything that He spoke into existence is still moving. This is further confirmed by the fact that the Universe is still expanding. This is possible because there is no death or sin in the Universe.

The Earth was supposed to be a replica of this with one caveat—God gave man authority here on earth. When Adam sinned, he opened the door to the element of death through disobedience. One act of disobedience removed man from his position of authority and thereby made satan the god of this world.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.Genesis 1:28 (KJV)

Had Adam continued with the program as God designed it, the Garden of Eden would have been expanded across this globe. Every spot on this earth would be exactly like the Garden—completely flourishing with the provision of God.

Fast-forward a bit…sin had taken hold and run rampant on earth but Jesus came on this earth to break the power of satan and as a man, return the authority of God back to man. Just as Adam had the Word of God to follow, Jesus did and so do we!

God’s Word has the ability to bring itself to pass. It was His Word that created the Garden and would have continued to do so until the whole earth was transformed, had not the man broken fellowship.

Likewise today, every Believer has the Word of God to use to overcome every undesirable circumstance in our lives! These circumstances exist because of the sin that is in the earth but God did not leave us without hope.

12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.John 1:12-13 (NLT)

This “right” or “power” speaks to our positioning as children of the King in the Kingdom of God. God has turned His authority over to us and expect us to use that authority to change the circumstances around us. In other words, we are to dominate the circumstances of our life instead of being dominated by them. We do this by exercising our faith in God and His Word!

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.2 Peter 1:2-4

God has given us the answer to every question and the solution to every problem we would ever face. It is up to us to accept and receive it through the direction of His Word. There is a verse or verses in the Word relating to the situation or circumstances you may be facing right now. Find that Word (God’s Promise) for your situation and hold onto it until the reality of that Promise replaces the reality of the situation!

There is nothing in existence that can withstand the transforming power of the Word of God, when it is believed and acted upon.

    • Sebastian says:

Hello! I’m happy that my posts helps encourage more study! There is so much more that God wants to say to us individually; so, anytime we hear or read anything regarding the Word, we should “tune in” to see what else God is saying.
Also, thank you for the award nomination…I really appreciate it! Please be patient with me, I will do a post shortly, I’m a little behind on my award acknowledgements.
      God bless you!
