The Power of Believing the Gospel 3

“…The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”—Mark 1:15 (KJV)

This is the third installment of the series The Power of Believing. If you have not yet read:  The Power of Believing the Gospel, or The Power of Believing the Gospel 2, please take time to read them as they will give light to the general importance of believing God and get you caught up to where we are.

It should be noted that the gospel of God is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is the rule and government of God in this world. God gave mankind dominion over this earth (Genesis 1:26). Man lost his right to dominion in this world in the Garden of Eden through one-act of disobedience. However, through one-act of love, faithfulness, and obedience by the Lord Jesus, all sin, guilt, shame, and unrighteousness was removed for each and every one who will accept the free gift of salvation given by grace.

Receiving this gift, coupled with allowing the authority of God to rule in our hearts is evidence of the Gospel in action. It is not a one-time thing; it is us daily living out the life of God that is within us. This life is a life of dominion that exhibits the rule and power of God in this world! However, it does not just happen; God has given us the responsibility…dominion is something that we have to take over the circumstances that come to rule over our lives. Regardless of the situation or circumstance, through faith, we can absolutely dominate.

You see, satan has lost the authority to rule over this world for every one that receives the authority given to us by God. However, he is like an evicted tenant who refuses to leave. We have to enforce the right that we have over him in every area of our lives. In other words, we have to take dominion over him. If we don’t take dominion over him, he will dominate us…you can believe that!

I know for some this may sound strange, maybe even outrageous, but that is what satan wants you to believe. He does not want you or me to discover our God-given rights because when we do, he will lose the hold he has had over us due to our being ignorant of what truly belongs to us. It is like you walking up and seeing a stranger in your vehicle or your home…surely you will place a demand upon them to get out. Why would you do that? Because it is yours and you have the authority over what’s yours!

It is no different when it comes to your home, body, job, marriage, church, or finances; you have the same authority! Tell the devil to get out and stay out! Tell sickness and disease, financial woes, and the like to get out and stay out! Don’t be ashamed or timid, exercise your authority, be bold, and take dominion, because God said you have the power! It does not matter who you are or where you come from; look as what the word says:

Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.—Luke 10:19 (Amplified)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.Romans 1:16 (KJV)

These things are important to know because far too many of us are sitting around waiting for God to do something when He already has; He, through the sacrifice of Jesus, has given to us everything that we need in this life (2 Peter 1:3). However, it is our responsibility to receive it all by and through faith. That thief is not going to give you your property back just because you show up…you have to demand what is yours!

Hey Sis! You are so welcome…just remember to “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might…” because, “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood…” Your obstacles are not people or organizations, they are spiritual entities desiring to block you from fulfilling His will for you. So I say to you and your husband, as God told Joshua; “Be strong and very courageous…” (Joshua 1:7 NLT). Blessings to you! –Sebastian

You’re welcome Ron! Good to hear from you. The power to choose is an important gift, given to us by God, that gives us power over circumstances…instead of them having power over us! Bless you my friend! –Sebastian

Excellent post my friend! God has given us all we need to survive and to defeat the enemy. Many of us have it backwards and that is the reason only a few enjoy the fat of the land. Thank you so much for sharing. God blesses.

Amen! I throw Satan out of my space as often as necessary! What people need to remember it’s the relationship with our Lord and Savior who will give us the authority. So we need to stay close to big daddy God and run into our safe tower for ammunition often.
Great Post & God Bless You!
