4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high , 6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! 7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; 8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. 9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.—Psalm 113:4-9 (KJV)
Defining the word attractive is not difficult; it does not have many variations with many different meanings. Of what is used to define attractive, I like this: arousing interest or pleasure.
Because the word attractive or attractiveness usually has a carnal connotation attached to it, many may not think that one should consider God as attractive; but I do find that His attributes are attractive to me and they arouse my interest and give me pleasure. Here is why…
He Loves Us –
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)
He Delivers Us –
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still , and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. (Exodus 14:13)
He Gives Us Hope & Peace –
17(As it is written , I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed , even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were . 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken , So shall thy seed be …21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised , he was able also to perform . (Romans 4:17-21)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth , give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid . (John 14:27)
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
So, I find serving God attractive…How about you?
