I Believe God Heals 2

(1)…“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. (2)When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (3) For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. – Isaiah 43:1-3 (NLT)

In light of the earlier post, (if you have not read I Believe God Heals part 1, please do), I want to continue the thought here…

For everyone that questions whether we should trust God for our physical healing, I believe the answer is simply…what is the alternative? In a society where taking prescribed medicines can cause greater problems than the condition we are taking them for—why not believe God?

What is the alternative????

We all want to be well, (I don’t know of anyone that wants to be sick), that is why we go to the doctor. When we find ourselves facing sickness and disease, we should choose to turn to God for an answer to our condition. He has the answer to whatever condition we are facing.

I know there are some that choose not to have medical intervention or assistance of any type but I am not of that opinion. I simply believe that although I will go to the doctor to find out what I am facing, I choose to take any diagnosis to the Lord and His Word—believing that by His stripes I am healed.

When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, initially I was scared but I believe God heals. As we went through the process of chemo treatments, at each treatment I would take the vials in my hand, before it was introduced to her body, and pray that it would serve the purpose for which it was designed and not have all the devastating side effects that are known to go with it. Although there were some, I truly believe it was not as bad as it could have been—I told you it was a process.

Often, as humans, we would rather not go through the fires of life (sickness in this case), but it is He who protects us in the midst of, and leads us through the fire. It is He that leads us “through the valley of the shadow of death.” If we trust Him, He will see us through anything and bring us out as well. I believe God heals.

When sicknesses arise, are we willing to “go through” if necessary…or do we just want to be delivered from it? This is not an advertisement for sickness but it is a dose of reality that sometimes we will have to go through as well. But either way it is God that heals, delivers, and set free!

God bless you and your wife. May your wife remain embraced by God’s healing power and may she be led to assist other women with a similar health challenge.

Thank you for the blessings. As you know, the life of faith is one we must live daily. Our God is not a respecter of persons but I do believe He is a respecter of our faith. When facing life’s challenges, we must fully trust Him by turning to His Word as the answer. With sickness, we absolutely must take the Word as we would any prescribed medication (Prov. 4:20-22).

During treatment for an illness via intravenous drip over a six hour time span, my blood pressure shot up to 156(not a good sign)…The nurse quickly adjusted the clamp and the drip reduced to a snail’s pace…I had on my earplugs and noticed that Tony Bennet had been crooning to me “Sing You Sinners”…..then, the music switched over and Mahalia piped in, “I woke up this morning, And God said, Touch her, in my name, and God said, ‘Touch her, in my name, the Lord said, Touch her, in my name’……” I told the nurse, “I am listening to Mahalia!”. The nurse responded, “I maybe need to switch you to Beethoven.'” I thought, “No thanks…Mahalia is just fine.” As soon as Mahalia’s voice fed me, “‘ God put a rainbow in the sky, rainbow in the sky, Oh God put a rainbow in the sky, Looked like the sun wasn’t gonna shine no more, and God, he put a rainbow in the sky’….” the nurse checked my pressure. It registered at 136/83…”Much better!” she said…For the following three treatments(six hours once a week) of November, I had -0- allergic reaction, -0- blood pressure problem, -0- shivers—–My body has responded positively to the treatment….Because I know God is in charge! I hope others may be inspired in someway by my testimony.

I believe it is time for Christians to follow our Lord’s example and show our wounds (as he did after the resurrection). That thing that was designed to kill us must be used to bring life to others! Thank you for being willing to share something so personal and private.
