I Believe God Heals

“…for I am the Lord that healeth thee.” – Exodus 15:26 (KJV)

I sit here sharing the concern that several of my dear friends must be feeling. Several of my friends are facing health issues that have come seemingly out of nowhere. These issues are wide-ranging in their severity, and some can be very scary, but that should not determine the level of your faith when receiving a less than desirable report from the doctor.

To be clear, I am not placing a doctor’s report in question. What I am saying up front is, no matter what you may be facing, our God is a healer. He has provided His Word as medicine for us (read Proverbs 4:20-23). We can take His Word when sickness comes upon us, just as we would take some prescribed medicine for treatment. Does that mean we are to ignore the doctor’s report? No! God uses the doctor too—however, they are not the final authority.

There is a stark difference between what a doctor says and what God says: the doctor relies on many years of training and experience to determine their diagnosis. That which the doctor determines is fact but God’s word is truth. Truth is higher than fact! I am aware that this is not popular but that does not diminish the reliability of the word of God.

The scripture above states God’s position when the issue of healing comes up. It does not matter what the diagnosis…God is a healer. I am sure many of you reading this have had your own health experiences or know someone who has and regardless of the outcome…I believe God heals. I have often heard people say and even pray ‘if it be the Lord’s will.” But here we see the Lord stating clearly that He heals. It is His will.

Does that mean that everyone will be healed? I think not. But that does not vanquish the truth and reliability of God and His Word. I will not try to answer the question as to why this one or that one did not get healed…that’s not my business. God is able to meet any need at any time—my or your experience does not qualify or disqualify God’s ability.

People try to measure the problem next to their experiences or opinion but the only thing the problem should be compared is the Word of the living God…and there’s no comparison to that. I believe God means what He said—He is the God that heals! Our experiences do not validate or limit the power of God. His power is not determined by our experiences, our belief, or lack thereof.

I believe God.

I believe in God’s love for His children.

I believe God heals!

I really enjoyed your articles on healing.

I have been studying instensely on Healing lately.

I have been listening to people who heal and asking God to take away any belief system and/or teachings on healings that is not truth according to His word and not according to the Word of man. In my studying, I have found that God healed ALL manner of sickness and deseases. He cast out devils and raised the dead. I don’t believe the Word said anywhere He did not heal whoever came to Him. I stand on that principal. That whoever comes to a Christian for healing will be healed. It is always God’s will to heal. Where does sickness comes from – Satan. He came to kill, steal and destroy and if that means stealing our health then thats what he is going to do. God has equipped up with everything we need to come against the Satan. Everything and I mean everything. He said ” You shall heal the sick”.. I take that to mean we will heal all the sick who comes to us. It is hard for Christians to believe this principal when so many of family members, and friends are dying.

I have been pressing into God for answers to find out why we are not healing ALL the sick. First, it is the unbelief that we can heal all the sick.

Secondly, I was told to lay hands on people and keep doing it until it happens. I don’t believe that is what I should do. When we pray, they should be healed, but they are not when I pray for them.

I am taking God at His word and if He said He we shall heal the sick then I want to heal all those that are sick. If I don’t heal the sick, then I am walking in disobedience to God’s Word. I want to walk in complete obedience to everything God’s says in His Word and not pick and choose what to believe or not to believe.

I have been pressing in over and over again for the answers from God and this is what I believe He spoke to my heart about why I am not healing the sick.

As I wept before God, seeking for answers and storming heaven, for God to reveal to me these thoughts came to me. When Jesus was on earth, He said that the Father was in Him and He does the work of the Father. Father and Jesus are one. Jesus did what the Father told Him to do. Jesus lives in me, then the Father must also lives in. So we have the Father and the Son who are one living in us. Therefore, we do the works that the Father is telling us to do on earth through His Son Jesus who lives in us. When I lay my hands on someone to be healed, it is not my hand. The Father in Jesus is laying His hand on the sick. If Jesus is laying His hands on the sick through us then Jesus is healing ALL the sickness that is in that person. This is why we shall lay hands on the sick and they shall be healed. It is not us who is doing the healing, it is Jesus, Father, who is living in us healing all manner of sickness and diseases. That is why we can heal ALL sickness. It is not us that is doing the work, it is Jesus working in us. For several months, my arm has been hurting alot. I have been praying for healing but nothing happened but when I got this revelation, I put my hand on my arm and my arm was completely healed. It was Jesus hand on my arm, healing me. He just used my hand to accomplish His Word in me.

I hope I explained this for you to understand. This is where the misconception come into play thinking we do not have the power to heal ALL sickness. It is not us who is doing the healing. It is Jesus living in us who is doing the healing and that is why we can heal ALL sickness. We need to get the truth about healing in order for us to minister to others.

If you have questions or not sure of what I am saying, please let me know and I will try to clarify it better.

      Hello Marilyn,

I believe you were quite clear on your stand. I appreciate your heart and unwavering faith. As believers, we sometimes wrestle with what we see or do not see…this can hinder our effectiveness or results. It is our faith in God and His willingness to heal, based upon the Word, that will help us see the miracles of which you speak.

Your revelation that it is God/Jesus living within us, that does the healing is as clear as can be! Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to us sharing together on this subject because there is no way it can be exhausted. May He continue to reveal Himself to you and others as you continue to seek Him.

Preach Sebastian!!! Next time I am in Atlanta, I will surely find your church.

  3. You are so right Sebastian; and just because my physical ailment remains has nothing to with my God healing my spirit to help me live through it regardless. I too believe God heals and it is always full and complete.
