Know Your Tools

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2 Tim 2:15 (KJV)

What would you say if you called a plumber but he did not know how to unclog a drain or fix a pipe? We expect doctors and lawyers to be thoroughly trained in their fields. Any professional that does not know their craft should be embarrassed. That is much the same scenario for any believer that does not understand the rights and benefits they have because they have failed to properly study the Word of God.

Christian’s who doesn’t have the understanding that they are forgiven, and not under condemnation, will live a defeated life because guilt over past mistakes will haunt them. The scriptures are clear that we have been made “free” from those things that plague us because of the purifying blood of Jesus. (Romans 8:1-2, KJV)

Having a better knowledge of the rights and privileges given to us by God, as His children, helps us live victoriously in this world. Through the study of the Word, we can find that we are not only forgiven, but healed as well. We don’t have to accept some dreadful disease simply because it “runs in the family.”

God’s Word teaches us that the beatings that Jesus bore was not for His sins but rather for our sins and healing!(Isaiah 53:4-5) If that is so, why do we claim to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior but still believe God is making us sick? Just asking…

This is just the tip of the iceberg….it’s time to study!
