Have Faith in God – Part 1

Have Faith in God – Part 1

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. – Mark 11:21-24 (KJV)

What does it mean to have faith in God

To have faith in God is to have the faith of God. Now someone may be saying how can I know the faith of God? Well, the Bible—our guide for living the Christian life—is the Word of God and is full of examples of how God uses faith. I used the present tense because the scriptures teaches that Jesus, (who was God in the flesh), is the same today as he was in the beginning (Hebrews 13:8).

The Word of God shows us that God spoke the world into existence and everything He spoke is still in operation. The one alteration is that He has given us the authority to operate as He. It is our responsibility to operate and live by the faith of God (Rom 1:17).

To do that properly, we must use the power of the Word of God—coming out of our mouths—to make a difference in our lives (Proverbs 18:21). We don’t have to accept things the way they are in our lives…we have the power to change.

Circumstances are subject to God; therefore, they are subject to us. If we use the power given to us through the power of speech, we can take a hard situation and see it turn around. How? By using the directive Jesus gave to the Apostles in the above scripture.
