[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!—Psalms 27:13 (Amplified)

The goodness of God is a firm reality! However, it can only be real in your life if you exercise faith in it. How do you have faith in God’s goodness? Glad you asked. The goodness of God is expressed throughout the scriptures and that is where our search will start and finish.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.—Genesis 1:1-4
The goodness of God is seen in the Creation. God took chaos and began to set order to it by calling light to where there was darkness and saw it as good. In other words, one indication of God’s goodness is He creates good things. We can take this model throughout the Bible and not only see the goodness of God but also, trust that goodness for our lives as well. What does this mean? It means we can look to God to be rid of everything that hurts us.
For instance, if you are sick, please know that God wants you well…always! He is our Healer! Some would have you believe that He uses sickness to teach us something or to bring us into submission to His Will. Looking at the verse below, we see Jesus’ compassion in carrying out the Father’s Will for Healing and showing His Goodness.
2 Then a man suffering from a dreaded skin disease came to him, knelt down before him, and said, “Sir, if you want to, you can make me clean.” 3 Jesus reached out and touched him. “I do want to,” he answered. “Be clean!” At once the man was healed of his disease.—Matt. 8:2-3 (Good News Translation)
The thing we must understand is that God is always good and is always willing to bless us. Again, this is shown to us in the verse above. The leprous man was constantly being rejected by society and had heard that Jesus was healing sick folk. Not being sure if Jesus would heal him, he prefaced his prayer with, “if you want to”. Jesus expressed the goodness of God with, “I do want to…be clean.” God is good and is always willing to express that goodness to the entire world. We have to come to Him full of faith in His goodness.
Believing in God’s goodness elevates us above the mundane and brings us into the realm of the supernatural, where anything is possible.
Father, may we always be certain of Your Love for us and Your Goodness towards us. Help us to believe Your Word more than our experiences and what others may say! For Your Word is always right and Your Works are done in Truth. Thank you…Amen!Have Faith1st ©2013 Faith1st Ministries
